We got all of our stuff put together and headed up the mountain with Chad and McKennan for another weekend on the mountain. Brett and Chad drove the side by sides up while Kennan and I drove the trucks. Kennan dropped their truck off at her family's property up the mountain and rode the rest of the way into Crystal with me. It had been raining and the roads were so muddy! We were sliding all over and got stuck a couple times, but luckily I was driving and my mad driving skills managed to get us to the cabin ;)
We didn't get much hunting done today due to the party that occured the night before, so we went on a side by side ride instead.
So we pulled over and stayed under a little shack that was the boyscout's Blaksmithing class. After about 30 minutes or so it started to ease up a little, so we got back in the side by sides and continued on our way. It was only about 15 minutes and it started pouring again. So we pulled over....again...

When it started to let up again we were nervous to head out again because we were surrounded by angry storm clouds. We either wait there and wait for the clouds behind us to go over or we go ahead and run into the ones that we just passed through. We decided to just go (we were all soaked and ready to take a nice warm shower). We got to the top of the hill and there was a gate that was locked. We didn't want to have to turn around and drive all the way back the way we came, so the boys decided to just go around the gate...even though there was a way steep hill that would probably have stopped any sane person. But we made it without killing anyone.
When we got home, we were joined by Brett's cousin Trent and his friend Ronnie.
McKennan and I made breakfast again while Chad hunted the mice that Cassie found in the wood pile (he killed three!).

and I made breakfast .
After breakfast, Chad and Kennan left and Brett decided to try and make a roof for "Agnes" so that we could go for a ride even if it rained. So he made us a roof out of garbage bags, bailing twine, and bungee cords....unfortunately our roof didn't keep the rain off of us, so we went back to the cabin.
We watched Jurrassic Park: 2 and then decided to actually hunt. We went for an afternoon drive in "Agnes" to check out a couple of the ponds, but didn't see anything. So we went back to the cabin and decided to hike for the evening hunt. We hiked until it was dark and didn't see anything but a few turkeys. It was neat to see the turkeys; I have never been turkey hunting so it was definitely an exciting thing to have a whole flock of turkeys surrounding you and not even know you are there.
Leaves are starting to change already!
