Lake Powell

I think it is pretty obvious that Brett loves the mountains and I love the water.  Not that I don't love the mountains too, but being out on the water is one of my most favorite things.  So I don't think Brett was too up set that I went to Lake Powell with my family while he had to stay home and drill for Guard.  We left Friday afternoon and got to State Line right before dock. We decided not to camp too far away, so we stayed at Wahweap Windows, just across from the Marina.  By the time we got all of our stuff loaded on the boat, drove across the lake, and unloaded all of our stuff it was dark.  So we had to pitch our tents in the dark.

Saturday morning we woke up, ate some breakfast, and hit the water. Only 9 of us could go out on the boat, so it was Dad, Krista, Zack, Wyatt, Lacey, Hunter, and I. My brother in law, Travis, lent us their slolam ski, so I got to ski for the second time this year. Dad even tried!  After skiing we did some wakeboarding.  Wyatt and Hunter both attempted wakeboarding for the first time.

And what would a lake trip be without the water weanie! Knox, Krew, and Kastle went out on the weanie before the big kids got their turn.

After we got back to the beach we decided to take a break and play there for awhile, while we ate lunch.

We all decided to hike up to Wahweap Windows later that evening after it had cooled down a little bit.  It is a neat archway that has a cave in the middle of it. We got up there and took a picture of everyone that decided to go up there, but while Jeremy was setting up the camera for the picture, Knox decided he needed to go potty (he's being potty trained). Everyone got a pretty good kick out of it.

After the hike we all went back, ate dinner, played Catch Phrase, and went to bed.

We had been lucky enough to dodge the bad weather that had been forecast for the whole weekend....until Sunday morning.  We woke up, packed up, and barely got to the loading docks when it started to pour.  Even though it wasn't fun to get soaked on the way out, the weather was great for the rest of it, and it was great to be able to go to the lake!
