Thursday night, I left Brett at home to have a girls night with some of my best friends from St. George. My best friend from high school, Heather Thomas, was in town with her adorable baby Madison, so we all got together for dinner and some yogurt. It was so great to catch up with her and all the other girls that I ended up so close with.
Brett had to work until 10 am on Saturday, but after he got off we headed up to the Sheep Trail in Cedar to watch Race the Face. Uncle Shane decided to put on a side by side race up "the face". This is a trail that goes straight up the face of the mountain to the giant "C" and it is not the smoothest ride. There were several side by sides that ended up broken and numerous flat tires. It was kind of a slow race, because it was just a timed event, but it was fun to get out and visit.
After Race the Face, we met up with CJ and Lacie to head to St. George for some shopping and dinner. Brett and I both drew out for the archery hunt, but I was very unprepared. So for my anniversary present, Brett bought me all new camo (shirt, pants, and sweatshirt), boots, arrows, field tips, broadheads, and walkie talkies! How awesome of a husband do I have? After we finished at Sportsman's, we all went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was nice to get out of town with some friends.
Sunday, we went and got my arrows cut and spent the day just relaxing. We went to a BBQ at Keith and Donna's for Casey's birthday and our anniversary, but mostly for Casey's birthday. Delicious food and even better company made for a great time.
And don't worry....we remembered to eat some of our wedding cake...at 11:30 last night! This was the first time that Brett got to actually taste our cake since I pretty much just smeared it all over his face at our wedding and didn't get any in his mouth ha ha. He was thoroughly convinced that it was going to be disgusting because it is 1 year old cake, but it was actually pretty good! So good that I decided to share some with Ryker and Kaiser :)
