Last weekend, Brett, Mom, Dad, and I drove up to Logan to visit Kym and her family. It was the first time that I had been up there since I moved away.
We left Cedar pretty late on Thursday (like 8:30pm) and finally got to Logan at 12:30am. Friday we woke up and after Brett and I made breakfast for everyone, we went to go see Wolverine. After the movie, Travis had to go to work so my dad watched the boys, the girls went shopping, and I got to show Brett around a little bit. We went and checked out Renengade Sports and Hastings (first one was Brett's choice, second was mine). Then went home and Brett played XBox with the kids until dinner.
Saturday was the funnest day (for me at least). We woke up at about 7 and went out to Hyrum Reservoir to go boating. Of course it wouldn't be a lake trip without a little chaos. As we pulled the boat out in to the water and started to float off the trailer, Kym realized that both of the batteries were dead, so I ended up jumping in the water and walking the boat up the trailer. Luckily we had jumper cables and some guy let us jump the boat off of his SUV. But finally we made it out on the water.
Last time I went boating I finally managed to get up on a slolam ski, something my dad has been trying to teach me ever since I was little, so I was pretty excited to show him that I finally got it. On my sisters boat, slolam ski-ers go first and since she had knee surgery that meant that I was up first. And I actually got up on my first try!
After Travis and I skied, we broke out the wake boards. Kendrick, Tate, and I were the only ones to wake board, but it was crazy to see how much better they both had gotten. It seems like just yesterday that they wouldn't even cross the wake and now Kendrick is working on jumping it!
After wake boarding was done, we broke out the surf board. Wake surfing is fun, but not as eventful as wake boarding or skiing so we didn't spend too much time doing this. Teryn, Travis, Tate, and I took turns on the surf board and finished up right as it started to rain.
When we got home we all just rested and hung out at the house. It was so much fun seeing everyone out on the water again...I had missed it a lot. And even though, Brett and my dad don't like water they were both good sports about spending the day on the boat.
The trip was over way too soon for me. We ate dinner and then headed back home. It was a lot of time spent in a car, but well worth it to see my Logan family again. I miss them so much!
