Holiday festivities with the family

This year my parents gave our whole family a pheasant hunt.  I was so excited when I found out about it, because it use to be a fairly regular tradition before the whole "Recession" hit and things got tight. It was the first time in a long time that all of my brothers and sisters and their spouses got together and spent time together.  We woke up early on Saturday and headed down to Beaver Dam to go pheasant hunting at Big Cotton Wood Game Ranch.  We were split into two groups for the hunt and then all got back together at the end for some skeet shooting. It was a BLAST!!

After the hunt, we took the pheasant home to cook and eat it while we decorated gingerbread houses. Normally we would wait until after Thanksgiving, but it was the only time that everyone would be able to come together and the last time that my sister, Kym, and her family would be down until 2014. Brett and I get pretty competitive and go all out on our gingerbread houses :)

We decided to stay the night out at my parents so that we could spend more time with my family and less time traveling.  So Sunday morning we woke up, made breakfast, and then went out to play some frisbee golf. Brett and I aren't the best frisbee golf players, but it was still fun. Even the little kids who couldn't play came out and entertained us by driving around in their tractors and gators.

It was an amazing weekend.  I am so very blessed to have the family that I do.
