The day before Brett left for AT we ended up buying an Arctic Cat Wild Cat. We had been shoppping around, researching, and test driving but not anything super seriously. Brett asked if we could drive up by D&P....just to look. An hour later we left with a brand new Wild Cat. So while Brett was gone, my job was to break it in.
This weekend was packed! Friday we had to do some stuff in town that I had to have Brett help me do and (of course) Brett wanted to drive his new toy. We took the same trail that I had been taking to break it in and holy cow! Brett was putting it to the test. We jumped it, did doughnuts, went up and down rocky roads, and over curbs. Unfortunately Brett was a little too aggresive with the curb and when we got home we had a flat :( We were able to get the tire fixed and a trailer together so that we could take the Wild Cat to my family reunion.
Saturday we woke up at headed to Little Creek Cabin in Paragonah for the Benson Family reunion. It was so nice to get together with the whole family (first time since my wedding that all my brothers and sisters had been together in the same place). We played volleyball, relaxed in the cabin, and took a little drive to Blow up.
Saturday evening, Brett and I came home to go on our own little adventure. We had been planning to take the Wild Cat up to Crystal and stay the night...so we did. The drive up was pretty cold (okay it was freezing!) but it was still fun. We had dinner with Greg at like midnight, went back to the cabin and started a movie on my laptop.
On the ride home we weren't in nearly as big of a hurry, so we stopped to carve our names in a tree, and noticed a little memorial on the side of the road. Brett and I had never seen it there before (it's only like 3 years old), but it was about a pilot that had crashed somewhere nearby. It was a neat story.
If I didn't do a good enough job of breaking the Wild Cat in while Brett was gone, we sure did it this weekend!
