So first blog ever! Pretty exciting. Brett proposed to me at the house he just bought, while still under construction. The carpets were torn up and walls being painted. I won tickets to opening night of The Hunger Games at midnight, so I didn't think anything of it when he picked me up and was dressed up. He told me that we needed to stop by the house to drop some stuff off. Again....nothing suspicious about that. But when I walked through the front door, right in the middle of our torn apart living room was a table with roses and a box sitting on it. In traditional 'Alyssa' fashion I asked, "What the hell is this?" Brett just giggled and said he didn't know, but that I better go check it out. I walked over to the table and opened the box, but it was empty (from what I was told later I had a confused/disappointed/mad look on my face). Then Brett got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket. "Alyssa Nicole Prisbrey. I want this to be your house too. Will you marry me?" Of course I said yes and was shaky and all that, but I had to quickly pull it together because about 1 minute after Brett got off his knee our painter showed up at our house. We heard him get out of his truck, so I took the flowers and my ring and snuck through the garage, so he wouldn't feel bad walking in on our 'moment'. I am so excited to be able to marry my best friend!
